MAKE A DIFFERENCE

Hearing about the effects of climate change can result in feeling many different emotions. Maybe you feel heartbroken that so many species are suffering, scared because you’re unaware of what the future might hold, or angry because it doesn’t feel like it’s a threat that’s being taken seriously.

If you’ve heard this warning, know that there is still HOPE. You’ve recognized the dangers of climate change and how it’s harming our oceans. Now, it’s your turn to make a difference. Look through the slideshows on seven simple ways you can help make a difference to our oceans today.

01

BIKE OR WALK

Extra heat is released in the air through gas being used up by transportation. Whenever possible, consider walking or riding a bike to get to a location. If you have to use transportation, consider using public transportation or carpooling, such as a through a bus or subway. This saves up extra gas from being released compared to driving alone in a car.

02

REDUCE ENERGY

Turn off lights and electronics that aren’t being used to avoid wasting extra energy. Even devices that are plugged in still run on energy, so unplug any chargers or appliances that you aren’t using to avoid extra energy wastage.

03

SHARE A LOT

Carbon gases are released from dumpsters because of their excess trash. Choose to buy items only when you absolutely need them. Never throw away used clothes or itimes if they’re still in decent condition. Give them away for donation instead.

04

GO GREEN

Find electricity providers that provide energy plans aimed to release low amounts of carbon gases in the air. They’re far more environment-friendly and help battle the challenges of global warming.

05

PLANT TREES

We need more oxygen on our planet! Help climate change by planting a few trees outside and watching them grow.
